J.M. ‘Buddy’ Fast, 75

J.M. "Buddy" Fast, 75, of Caulfield, died Dec. 4, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. At Buddy's request, no public service will be held. 

He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in  Odessa, Texas, to J.O. "Bud" and Catherine Fast.

The Fast family moved to Caulfield when Buddy was a kid, and he graduated from Gainesville High School in 1966. 

ln 1969, he married the love of his life, Linda Mitchell, and they had two children. Many family vacations were taken as family was always Buddy's first priority. Buddy was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He loved watching his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids do what they loved. He was always available for advice, and he knew so much about so many things.

He is survived by his wife Linda; his sister Donna Dischler; his daughter Christy Overcast and husband David; his son Mitch and wife Michele; grandkids Caitlin Wichowski and husband Josh, Natalie Fast and Madeline Fast; and two great-grandsons, Cameron Overcast and Gentry Wichowski.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Catherine Fast; his brother-in-law Bob Dischler; and his grandson, Colton Overcast.
