Defendants charged with failing to appear

At least three defendants who failed to appear in court during the regularly scheduled Law Days before Circuit Judge Craig Carter were hit with another felony charge for failing to appear in court.

Matthew Barton, 40, of Monett, Kimberly D. Hemphill of Summit, Arkansas, and Tyler Hogan, 32, of Ava, were each charged with the class E felony of failure to appear in court after their names were called during Law Day sessions recently and the defendants were not present in court.

Hemphill was scheduled to appear in court July 19 for an arraignment hearing in a case in which she’s charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Hogan was scheduled to appear in court July 19 for an arraignment hearing in a case in which he’s also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Barton was scheduled to appear in court June 7 for a plea hearing or trial setting in a case in which he’s charged with harassment.
