Pottersville man pleads guilty to possession of Hydrocodone, given SIS and probation

James T. Young, 43, of Pottersville, pleaded guilty to possession of Hydrocodone during a Feb. 22 hearing before Circuit Judge Craig Carter. Young was given a suspended imposition of sentenced and placed on supervised probation for 5 years. 

According to the probable cause statement in the case prepared by Ozark County Deputy Matt Rhoades, the officer was called to a traffic stop by OCSD conducted by an OCSD reserve corporal at 10 p.m. Aug. 28, 2022. 

“I arrived on scene, and he was finished with his search but was investigating a container in which he located marijuana paraphernalia. He requested I search the container,” Rhoades’s report says. “I located a white plastic container with a lid that had 8 small white pills with the marking M367, which I recognize through my training and experience to be Hydrocodone, a controlled substance.”

Rhoades said he confirmed the substance with a Google search of the markings. 

Neither Young or his passenger had a prescription for the medication. Young told the officer that the pills were his.
