William ‘Ernie’ Jones, 81

William Ernest “Ernie” Jones, 81, of Price Place, Arkansas, died Dec. 1, 2021, at his residence. No local services are planned at this time.

He was born June 28, 1940, in Yuma, Arizona, the son of William Thomas and Roberta Brooks Jones.

He grew up in Arizona, and on Dec. 27, 1959, he married Carol Kay Lewis in Yuma. They began raising their family in Yuma before moving to Illinois for work. The family vacationed for many years on Bull Shoals Lake near Pontiac. In retirement in 2013, they moved to Price Place, south of Pontiac.

Mr. Jones was a loving husband and father and an avid hunter. He taught his kids and grandkids to hunt and enjoy the outdoors. 

He is survived by his wife, Carol Jones, of the home; four children, Kenneth Jones and Mark Jones, both of Price Place, Terry Jones of Troy, Illinois, and Tommy Jones of Independence; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
