Ozark County Times staff takes home awards in statewide design contest

The Ozark County Times received four awards in the 2022 Missouri Press Advertising and Marketing Executives (MPAME) statewide Best Ad Contest in the medium-sized weekly newspaper class. Times Graphic Artist and Ad Designer Regina Mozingo and Editor Jessi Dreckman attended the MPAME annual meeting April 22, at Lake of the Ozarks to accept the awards and attend additional ad design training.
Mozingo took home second place in the category of best ad smaller than a quarter page for her design for Pandora’s Petals.
Mozingo also took home honorable mention in the same category for her design promoting the Dora FFA and 4H livestock auction.
She received third place in the category of best full page ad for an ad she designed for the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department in the 2021 The Real Ozarks magazine. The judges said this about the ad, “Power graphics bring home the point of this ad.”
Times editor Jessi Dreckman won honorable mention for the cover of the 2021 The Real Ozarks magazine, which featured a photo of Parker Gilmore holding a fish he’d caught on Bull Shoals Lake. The judges left this information about why they chose the cover: “I like this because it speaks ‘Ozarks.’ Great choice of photo, wholesome. The photo speaks for the nature of the book without the need for a lot of text.”
