Nold breaks 800m record
Cade Nold, Dora High School senior, is the Class 1 state champion in both the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run and is now a state record holder in both events.
Cade set the 400-meter dash record in 2024 when he ran it in 49.15. He won the race this year in 49.18.
This year, he smashed the 800-meter run record of 1:55.97 that was set by Caleb Masterson of Greenwood back in 2003. Cade finished in 1:53.81 to bring home the championship medal and write his name in the history books.
The two individual wins mark the third consecutive year for Nold to bring home first-place medals in both events, ending an incredible high school career in fine fashion. Nold will continue his track career at Southwest Baptist University.
