Lost Woods Golf Course and Pub in Theodosia has changed hands, and five couples now own the business as a joint effort.

New owners are Tom and Christene Reinbold, Sharon and Greg Nagel, Brandi and Matt Shockey, Nancy and Bill Rauch and Debi and Bill Agee. The group purchased Lost Woods from former owners Joe Edwards and Sharon Brown.

“The community and new ownership team want to thank Joe Edwards and Sharon Brown for their timeless efforts in building Lost Woods into what it has become to date. We’re honored, blessed and look forward to continuing the momentum started on their behalf in bringing the community closer together and offering a family-friendly environment to all,” the owners said in a press release about the transaction. “Come see us. We look forward to meeting all of you and sharing our vision in creating the most family-friendly environment in the Ozarks!”

The golf course, located at 131 Lost Woods Drive in Theodosia, was built in 1992 and offers a 9-hole course with a challenging layout of dog legs, narrow fairways, ponds, rolling forests and hills. A driving range and practice green are also available to those who want to spend a little time honing their skills. The on-site clubhouse offers golf cart rentals, clubs and range balls.

Lost Woods Golf Course is the home course of the Lutie High School golf team. It also hosts several community golf outings and tournaments throughout the season.

Golf leagues

Organizers say there is an opportunity to meet new people by participating in one of the golf leagues offered by the resort. All leagues are random-draw for teams, and play is a best-ball format. Sign up is on the day of the league, and all levels are welcome to join.

A men’s league is offered at 5 p.m. Tuesdays, and a ladies league is offered at 9 a.m. Thursdays. The owners explain that ladies teams are divided with the availability of a seasoned golfer assigned to each group to offer suggestions, if interested, to better players’ games. A couples league is offered at 3:30 p.m. Sundays.

Disc golf, pickleball, bocce ball, sand volleyball and corn hole

Lost Woods offers disc golf with an 18-basket course. For six years, Lost Woods Golf Course has been the host to the Disc Golf Monkeys top Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) tournaments. For newbies that want to give disc golf a try, disc rental is available.

Four new pickleball courts will open this July with lessons available and leagues to participate in. The owners also anticipate bocce ball, sand volleyball and corn hole to open soon, offering the community a variety of activities for all ages and skill levels.

Pub and event venue

The Lost Woods Pub located inside the clubhouse offers golfers and other customers a menu that includes  a menu featuring wings and pizza, as well as daily specials. Soft drinks, beer and a full bar are available.

Those looking for a location to host a get together may consider the Lost Ballroom, which can be rented and accommodates up to 100 guests with catering available.
