Several Ozark County schools are honoring local veterans with special events on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and all area veterans are invited to attend.
Lutie School will begin the day with a Veterans Day assembly at 9:30 a.m. Veterans are invited to join students and staff for breakfast in the cafeteria before the program, which will feature short presentations and performances by Lutie students. To RSVP, call the Lutie School office at 417-273-4150.
Gainesville Elementary School will also host its annual Veterans Day assembly from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The event includes a breakfast for veterans and a music program presented by students.
At Dora School, the Veterans Day celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. All veterans and community members are welcome to attend. A lunch will be served following the program.
Bakersfield R-IV School will hold its Veterans Day observance beginning with lunch for all veterans at 11:30 a.m. in the FEMA building. A special program and assembly will follow at 1 p.m., featuring State Rep. Matthew Overcast as guest speaker.
Each school encourages local veterans to attend and be recognized for their service and sacrifice.
