Jim Britt wins Ozark County Presiding Commissioner seat

Unofficial election results show that Jim Britt received the most votes and has been elected as Ozark County’s new Presiding Commissioner in the Aug. 4, 2026, Primary Election. He beat out challengers John Turner and Randy Riffey. He will replace current Presiding Commissioner Terry Newton, who chose not to run for another term due to medical issues.  

 The candidates each received these votes, according to the unofficial election results:

• Jim Britt, 1,293

• John Turner, 679

• Randy Riffey, 106
