If you loved the festival coverage from the Times, consider subscribing

Times’ staffers Jessi Dreckman, left with back to camera, and Regina Mozingo, are shown here live streaming and taking photos of contestants in the Lil Cedar Pete and Lil Miss Addie Lee contest last Friday afternoon. Contestant Brynlee Johnson is on stage answering questions by event emcee April Luna.

If you enjoyed following along with the Ozark County Times’ coverage of this year’s Hootin an Hollarin festival, we’d love to invite you to consider subscribing to your hometown newspaper.

The Times’ small staff was on the Gainesville square from the moment the National Anthem was sung Thursday night until the last square dancers left Saturday evening. We attended every single event, listened to every band, visited every booth and demonstrator and snapped photos and videos of hundreds of people enjoying the festival. In all, we took nearly 2,000 photos and videos and live streamed many festival events, sharing them on our Facebook page for everyone to enjoy.

Those photos are free to download, share on your own social media or have printed to tuck away in photo albums. Our only request is that you credit the Ozark County Times when you can.

The Times’ mission at Hootin an Hollarin goes beyond covering the news. One of our favorite parts is being able to capture the moments that make it so special. We take all those photos and videos to share with folks who can’t be here – folks who have moved away or whose lives didn’t allow them to be here for whatever reason. Our hope is that when they see the photos or watch a live video, they feel like they’re back home on the Gainesville square again, right in the middle of all the action. For parents, it’s also a way to have snapshots of their kids when they’re too busy helping straighten costumes or watching the show themselves to remember to pull out their camera. These photos become little keepsakes of memories, and we love being able to give that to our friends and neighbors. It’s why we take so many photos - it’s all about preserving the spirit of the festival and sharing it with everyone who loves Hootin an Hollarin, no matter where they are.

If you’re searching for a particular moment, there’s a good chance we have at least one photo of it. You can easily find specific photos by visiting the Ozark County Times Facebook page. Click “Photos,” then “Albums,” and you’ll see the pictures organized by event or category.
