Hootin an Hollarin quilt show being held in new location

This year’s Hootin an Hollarin quilt show will be held in a new location - on the west side of the square next door to Ozarks Wifi.

Sandra Stone took home the best in show award at the 2024 Hootin an Hollarin quilt show with her quilt titled “Autumn Frolic.”

This year’s Hootin an Hollarin quilt show, sponsored by the Friendly Neighbors Extension Club, will be held in a new location - on the west side of the square next door to Ozarks Wifi.  Look for the quilt show sign out front.

Lily Branco, one of the show’s organizers, says the workers are looking forward to showing off this year’s submitted quilts and quilted items.

There’s a category for just about anything quilted. The only requirement for the show is that the quilt being entered has not been entered in a previous Hootin an Hollarin quilt show.

“This is an important part of our heritage here in the Ozarks and one of the highlights of the Hootin and Hollarin festival. So don’t be shy and bring your creation for the visitors to admire,” Branco said.

Quilts to be judged need to be brought to the show site between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 to be entered.

Quilts will be available for viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.

Ribbons are awarded in 10 categories. Ribbons will also be given for People’s Choice (voted on by festival attendees), Judges’ Choice and Best in Show.

Antique quilts for display are welcome to be submitted if there is extra display room. They will not be judged.
