Missouri University Extension employees Traci Foster, left, and Renee Hambelton present donations totaling $250 from Marty Morrison, the Ozark County Extension Council and the Extension office staff to Ozark County Health Department administrator Rhonda Suter as part of the council’s participation in the current grant-matching campaign to aid the Ozark County Food Pantry, which is operated by OCHD. The food pantry has until March 1, 2018, to raise $5,000 so it can receive a dollar-for-dollar matching grant from Ozarks Food Harvest, the regional food bank for southwest Missouri. The funds are being provided through a grant the regional food bank received from the Wal-Mart Foundation State Giving Program. Ozark County Extension agent Randy Weidmeier hopes other area businesses and organizations will accept the challenge to help the food pantry reach its $5,000 goal – which can become $10,000 with the matching grant. Cash donations to the food pantry may be delivered to the health department or mailed to P.O. Box 180, Gainesville, MO 65655. Be sure to designated on the check that it is for the “challenge grant.” For more information, call OCHD at 417-679-3334.
