Contact commissioners with family cemetery information

Ozark County Commissioners are, from left, Layne Nance (Western District), Gary Collins (Eastern District) and Terry Newton (Presiding).
When the Ozark County commissioners met Monday, Oct. 2, they said they hoped that anyone who currently has a family cemetery will contact the county with information about the cemetery.
This was in response to information in last week’s meeting about new procedures concerning new family cemeteries in Ozark County. Presiding Commissioner Terry Newton said the commissioners have received a couple of calls from people asking for clarification about the procedures. The commissioners are also hoping for a more accurate listing of all the cemeteries in the county.
Also discussed was a new sign on the MU Extension building. The new sign will be furnished by the MU Extension and will say MU Extension Service of Ozark County.
The commissioners agreed to donate $200 to $300 to Agape House in Mountain View. According to County Clerk Brian Wise, Ozark County has donated a similar amount for several years to the domestic violence shelter.
County offices are closed Monday for Columbus Day. The next commissioners meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 on the second floor of the Ozark County Courthouse. The meetings are open to the public.
