Bakersfield Christmas parade, tree lighting

The Festival Committee of Bakersfield and the Bakersfield Auto Club are organizing this year’s Christmas festival and parade, to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in the parking lot behind Century Bank in Bakersfield. 

Parade line-up for the “Sweetest Christmas Parade” will be at the Bakersfield School at 4:30 p.m., a half hour before the parade begins at 5 p.m. Because the parade will be held at night, those entering floats, cars, horses, ATVs and UTVs or whatever other fun parade entry idea they have, are encouraged to use lights so it’s more visible. The town’s Christmas tree lighting, and cookies with Santa inside Century Bank will be held after the parade, likely around 6 p.m.
