The town of Bakersfield celebrated its annual fall festival, Bakersfest, and one of the largest car shows around last Saturday, Sept. 13. Kelly Crabtree, who helps organize the “Walk the Streets of Bakersfield Annual Car Show” that coincides with the Bakersfest said attendance and participation were slightly down this year compared with last due to the festival’s new location at the Bakersfield High School parking lot and the hot weather that day. The event features various booths and cars all on display for festival attendees to enjoy. Crabtree said there were 87 cars entered into the show this year, and awards were given out in three different classes as well as the youngest competitor in the show.

Pictured below: Alan Arnold of Mountain Home, Arkansas, shared more than 60 photos of the event on his Facebook page, including the photo below of his 1980 Chevrolet Corvette which was entered into the show. Arnold says he purchased the eye-catching car in December, and the Bakersfest event was the first car show it has been entered into. The Corvette been partially restored with a special paint job a refurbished interior.
