BIG BOB’S FISHING REPORT

Due to the response to my sale, we will now be closing on July 31. There is still value in the stock that is left, and I anticipate most of that will be gone in the next two weeks.
Bass fishing during these hot days can be frustrating, but some anglers are doing quite well. Several have told me that the key is more graph work and less fishing. One angler told me he spends most of his time reading his graph, and when he does find a school then he starts to fish. Deep-diving crankbaits and big jigs seem to bring better fish to the boat. Night fishermen are doing well with big plastic worms, jigs and single spins.
Walleye are deep, and  best results are coming from dragging a night crawler in the 30- to 35-foot range. Big bluegill can be found in 25 feet or more of water along main lake bluffs. Catfish will also be around bluegill as they are one of the cats’ favorite food.
On Lake Norfork, reports of hybrids and white bass in the Liner area have been good. Sliders, rooster tails and small spoons all work on these fish.
We have several weeks of hot weather ahead of us, so the best fishing will be early in the morning and again at night. Once I retire you will find me on the water from about 5:30 to about 9 a.m. Hope to see you there!
