Supreme Court honors Judge Craig Carter

Circuit Judge Craig Carter

In a recent ceremony honoring exemplary service to the people of Missouri, Missouri Chief Justice Zel M. Fischer recognized Ozark County Circuit Judge Craig Carter for his participation in the judicial transfer and partnership programs. The ceremony was held during the annual meeting of the Judicial Conference of Missouri, the organization of all state judges held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Missouri Bar in Kansas City.

The judicial transfer and partnership programs maximize the efficient use of Missouri’s available judicial resources. In the partnership program, presiding judges of the partnered circuits, through direct and continuous consultation, arrange for the transfer of judicial resources.  In the transfer program, the presiding judge of a circuit can ask the Supreme Court of Missouri to assign a judge from anywhere in the state to hear cases in the circuit.

Carter has served as Circuit Judge of the 44th Judicial Circuit, which also includes Douglas and Wright counties, since Jan. 1, 2013. He previously served as associate circuit judge for Douglas County from April 2005 to Dec. 31, 2012.
