May 7

10:25 a.m. – Caller shared information. Handled by officer.

10:40 a.m. – Two-vehicle accident on Highway 160 in front of Dollar General. No injuries. Persons involved did not want a report, exchanging information themselves.

11:59 a.m. – Caller on County Road 504 said eight bags of trash had been thrown on his property. Officer spoke with reporting parting and with owner of the trash. Trash has been placed where it will be picked up tomorrow.

12:00 p.m. – Deputy needed at Gainesville High School. Handled by officer. Referred to juvenile authorities.

12:34 p.m. – Truck jack-knifed on roadway on MM Highway. Gainesville Fire and Baker Towing responded.

1:35 p.m. – Caller said a white semi and a little white car can’t maintain lanes on Highway 5 south near Arkansas line, headed toward Gainesville. OCSD rendered assistance.

5:38 p.m. – Prisoner transport, Charleston, Missouri. 

7:42 p.m. – Reporting party says a 4x4 taupe-colored truck is parked on her property on County Road 328 after she asked them to leave. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

8:06 p.m. – Reporting party says a renter is possibly cooking meth and is causing disturbances with neighbors on Cloverdale Circle.  Neighbor called back and said residents at the address are shooting and arguing with each other. Reporting party then called and said they had all left the area.

8:24 p.m. – Stranded motorist on H Highway at County Road 328. OCSD rendered assistance.

9:29 p.m. – Reporting party says her soon-to-be-ex-husband is causing a disturbance in the home they are still sharing on AA Highway. OCSD responded. Parties were separated.

10:40 p.m. – Vehicle stop on Highway 160 at County Road 513. Subject arrested.

 

May 8

12:23 a.m. – OCSD assisted Missouri State Highway Patrol with a search at Highway 5 and Third Street.

1:01 a.m.  – Caller said someone is pushing a truck on the Tecumseh curves. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

6:43 a.m. – Vehicle accident south on Highway 5 south of the Wasola firehouse. Two people, one child (who is not injured). Female has severed arm and is bleeding from wrist area. MSHP, Ozark County Ambulance and Air Evac responded.

8:15 a.m. – Prisoner transport, Kameron Stillwell and Kyron Stillwell, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. 

4:52 p.m. – Medical: 89-year-old female is bleeding in mouth. Thornfield VFD unable to respond. Theodosia Area VFD  and OCA responded. Patient transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

6:08 p.m. – Caller said a white single-cab Chevy Silverado with damage to the front passenger fender is passing cars on curves and double-yellow lines on Highway 160 at Highway 5 south. Referred to MSHP.

6:31 p.m. – Caller said a drunk driver drove a Jeep into the ditch on County Road 310. OCSD, MSHP, Ron’s Recovery responded. Subject arrested.

9:58 p.m. – Caller said a male subject stole her camera equipment on W Highway. OCSD rendered assistance.

10:54 p.m. – Caller reported a maroon Ford Taurus in the middle of the roadway on Highway 95 3 miles from Highway 160. Theodosia Area VFD and MSHP responded.   

 

May 9

6:28 a.m. – Caller said a vehicle struck a guide wire with his vehicle and needs to be towed on the east side of Patrick Bridge. MSHP responded.

1:42 p.m. – Lift assistance needed on Smoketree Lane. Theodosia Area VFD responded. 

2:08 p.m. – Brush fire reported on County Road 308. Lick Creek and Caney Mountain VFDs responded.

4:01 p.m. – Caller said a central air unit was stolen from a residence on County Road 618. Reporting party came to office to fill out statement. 

5:58 p.m. – Prisoner transportz; Julie Lazorchak, Gainesville.

9:45 p.m. – Caller said several men are fighting at a location on Cloverdale. Handled by officer.

10:33 p.m. – Medical: 54-year-old female has high blood pressure. OCA and Thornfield VFD responded. Patient transported to BRMC.

11:24 p.m. – Warrant arrest at Bullseye.

 

May 10

12:01 a.m. – Medical: 66-year-old male with previous heart attack is having chest pain. Dora VFD and South Howell Ambulance responded. Patient transported to BRMC.

8:14 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Anthony Martina nd Jesse Morgan to Howell County and pick up Jason Mansker at Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center.

9:52 a.m. – Tornado sirens tested. Theodosia siren did not work; they have a work order in. Bakersfield tornado siren worked. Gainesville siren downtown didn’t work but they have an order to get it fixed.

11:48 a.m.– Traffic stop at Highways 101 and O. OCSD.

12:15 p.m. – Traffic stop sy Highways 101 and O. OCSD.

2:44 p.m. – Caller reported a strong smell in house on Ledbetter Hollow. Theodosia Area VFD responded.

4:00 p.m. – Medical: 29-year-old male wants to go to stress unit voluntarily. 

OCA responded. Patient was transported to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

7:45 p.m. – Medical: 76-year-old female has numbness on left side. OCA and Wasola VFD responded. 

10:44 p.m. – Caller said a brown horse is out on County Road 104. OCSD rendered assistance. 

11:35 p.m. – OCSD assisted MSHP on the Gainesville square. 

 

May 11

10:41 a.m. – Medical: 46-year-old male had recent surgery and now is burning up with fever. Wasola VFD and OCA responded.

10:51 a.m. _ Medical: woman needs to go to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Howell County Ambulance, Air Evac and Pontiac VFD responded.

12:38 p.m. – Caller reported seeing smoke in area along Highway 101 north. Caney Mountain VFD responded. It was a controlled burn.

1:32 p.m. – Medical: 67-year-old female has bad arthritis. Theodosia Area VFD and South Howell County Ambulance responded.

1:55 p.m. – Caller ion Peppermint Drive named two males and said one had been at her house, and the other is not welcome there either. Wanted it on record. 

7:12 p.m. – Medical: 22-year-old female is having seizures. Bakersfield VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

 

May 12

12:01 a.m. – Medical: 70-year-old male is throwing up and hasn’t eaten in four days. He is having trouble talking, slurring his words. OCA responded. Patient transported to BRMC.

1:23 a.m. – Warrant arrest attempted. Unable to locate.

2:34 a.m. – Medical: 48-year-old male is hot and dizzy. Passed out while on phone with Cox Ambulance. OCA and Air Evac responded. Air Evac canceled at 3:13 a.m.

6:23 a.m. – Cows out on J Highway near Lick Creek bridge. Owner was called.

7:28 a.m. – Three black calves on J Highway near Lick Creek VFD. Owner was contacted.

9:01 a.m. – A stepfather is asking that a death notification be delivered to stepdaughter regarding her mother’s passing this morning.  Stepdaughter needs to contact stepfather as soon as possible. OCSD notified the person at 9:10 a.m.

9:26 a.m. – Caller on Lightning Springs Road said he was riding his dirt bike on the county road, checking his fences, when he was approached by his neighbor, who said, “I suggest you check your fences from the other side,” causing the caller to feel threatened. Wanted it on record.

9:42 a.m. – Caller on Highway 160 said he hired livestock transport service to pick up horses from Nebraska and deliver them to Arizona, but the transport service is long overdue and will not answer his calls. OCSD rendered assistance. No contact made at this location. No horse or trailer visible from locked gate. 

10:53 a.m. – Caller requested well-being check on his children at a specified location. OCSD checked; children are fine.

11:34 a.m. – Caller on W Highway near Freeman Ranch said he has seen three dogs, one resembling a pit bull, that may have been dumped. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

1:24 p.m. – Caller would like a well-being check on his son at a specified address. OCSD contacted guardian of child; child is fine. Reporting party was asked to contact the guardian.

1:26 p.m. – Caller said an older yellow truck is parked at a house across the roadway on H Highway with a passed-out person in it. Handled by OCSD officer.

1:27 p.m. – Caller says a black Nissan Maxima has been abandoned in parking lot of Ozark Plaza Motel. OCSD rendered assistance; caller will have vehicle towed at owner’s expense

4:05 p.m. – Caller reported several items stolen from a storage unit. Report taken.

 

May 13

12:17 a.m. – Medical: Caller said her husband just had coronary stints put in on Thursday, and now his blood pressure is high and he feels like he might be having a heart attack. OCA responded. Patient transported to BRMC.

12:38 a.m. – White Pontiac with temporary tags and tinted windows is reportedly all over the roadway and changing speed on Highway 160 headed west. OCSD rendered assistance.

12:21 p.m. – Caller said people are driving away from a house across the street to a house behind her house that was recently sold and no one is supposed to be there. Handled by OCSD officer; 2002 Chrysler van at this location was towed.

1:37 p.m. – Caller said a male and female are walking down County Road 308 fighting. OCSD responded; checked OK.

1:54 p.m. – Caller said a stop sign has been run over at Highway 5 north and County Road 129. Referred to MoDOT.

3:17 p.m. – Domestic disturbance: verbal argument on County Road 819. OCSD rendered assistance. 

3:22 and 3:41 p.m. – House fire reported on County Road 841. Wasola VFD responded with Wasola, Brixey-Rockbridge and Gainesville VFDs responding in mutual aid. OCA also responded. 

6:59 p.m. – Reporting party heard screaming, loud music and then gunshots at Anglers Motel. MSHP responded. At 7:05 p.m., MSHP said reporting party had called back and said gunshots were intensifying. When trooper arrived on scene, he said it was a misunderstanding and subject was target shooting.

7:12 and 7:16 p.m. – Medical: 19-year-old male took a handful of Benadryl. Tecumseh VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

8:29 p.m. – Medical: unspecified illness. Dora VFD and South Howell Ambulance responded. Patient transported to BRMC.

9:16 p.m. – Medical: 78-year-old female is having chest pains. Has a pacemaker and previous heart surgery. Gainesville Fire, OCA and Air Evac responded. Air Evac was canceled. Patient transported to OMC by OCA.

 10:37 p.m. – Black Angus cow was on Highway 95, and he ran it onto Niemi Lane to get it off the roadway. OCSD was unable to determine animals owner.

 

May 14

12:24 a.m. – Caller said a 14-year-old female is cutting herself. OCSD rendered assistance.

7:03 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Barry Brown, St. Louis Metropolitan.

8:25 a.m. – Caller reported a stolen boat trailer and 50 hp Yamaha outboard motor from a location on Highway 160. Report taken; entered into MULES.

11:13 a.m. – Mail carrier’s car may be on fire; he smells burning wire. Lick Creek VFD responded; VFD was canceled. Owner has requested tow truck.

11:24 a.m. – Brush fire reported on V Highway. Bakersfield VFD responded with mutual assistance from Howell County Rural, Caulfield and Tecumseh VFDs. Controlled burn 

11:41 a.m. – Medical: female has vertigo. OCA responded; call was canceled by Douglas County.

11:47 a.m. – List assistance requested in Harlin Heights. Gainesville Fire responded. 

1:15 p.m. – Caller said 90-weight oil was lost off a vehicle and is all over the roadway on Highway 160 by Rocky Top Campground. Tecumseh VFD responded.

1:26 p.m. – MoDOT vs car on second county road to left off JJ Highway. OCSD rendered assistance.
