Danny Williams’ child-sex trial date reset for fourth time

Danny Williams

Udall resident Danny Williams, 57, was scheduled to face a Wright County jury Tuesday in an Ozark County case in which he is charged with statutory sodomy of a child. However, during a May 17 pre-trial conference, the jury trial was rescheduled to June 27-28 at Hartville at the request of defense counsel Ryan David Reynolds. Ozark County Prosecuting Attorney John Garrabrant was opposed to the rescheduling request.
A pre-trial conference will be held June 7 at Hartville before Circuit Judge Craig Carter. The new trial date marks the fourth attempt at scheduling the jury trial. The initial trial, scheduled for July 31, 2017, and another scheduled date, March 20, 2018, were also both continued at Reynolds’ request.
Williams’ case was transferred on a change of venue motion from Ozark County to Wright County in December 2016. Williams was charged in the case after allegations arose that he performed sexual acts on a child at his Udall home in January while he was babysitting the child.
