Zanoni news: Feb. 28, 2018

We did get some rain during the week, and then on Saturday it came down in hard showers. It ran down through the field across the road, and we hadn’t seen that in a long time. We got a little over 6 inches. Water gates will be out, but they can always be fixed.
The fields are beginning to green up. Maybe it will be a good spring starting before long.  The stores already have their seed racks out.
We had visitors in church Sunday and always welcome them back.
Paul and I went to Springfield Sunday after church and joined Casey and Chris at the Golden Corral for dinner. We were celebrating both their birthdays, Casey’s in January and Chris’s in March. Chris was down from Columbia for the weekend. They can always use meat out of the deep freeze, so we fixed them up.
I received a call from Doran Livingston, who was thinking about the Will Young family and had some questions. I then called Doyn Mallow, and he was able to give some information.
We are seeing deer and turkeys across the road and behind the house. Five big gobblers were picking around in back one evening late. The deer seem to be everywhere, and it is a good idea to be very watchful when driving on the roads.
The March Food Pantry will be on Wednesday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 14, 10 a.m. to l p.m.
Our sympathy to the ones who have lost loved ones.
To those who are ill with colds, flu or other illnesses, we hope you get better soon.
