The Center menus, activities and OATS bus schedule: Feb. 21-28, 2018

Menus

Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is open to everyone. The cost is $6 for those younger than 60; a $3.50 donation is requested for those over 60. Call 679-4746 to order take-out for 25 cents more.

Wednesday, Feb. 21: steak burger on a bun, seasoned potato wedges, meadow blend veggies, pineapple dream. Thursday, Feb. 22: lasagna, green beans, cauliflower, garlic bread, cheese cake. Friday, Feb. 23: fried fish, brown beans, coleslaw, cornbread, brownies. Monday, Feb. 26: pork carnitas, Mexican street corn and beans, chocolate chunk cookies. Tuesday, Feb. 27: chicken cordon bleu, California vegetable blend, fresh-baked roll, pumpkin cake. Wednesday, Feb. 28: meatloaf, gouda and bacon mac and cheese, green beans, fresh baked roll, banana split cake. 

 

Activities

Wednesday, Feb. 21: matter of balance 10 a.m., Beltone hearing clinic 10 a.m. to noon, Grace foot clinic by appointment. Thursday, Feb. 22: crafters corner 10 a.m., bingo 1 p.m., music jam session 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23: arthritis exercise class 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26: arthritis exercise class 1 p.m., bingo 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27: senior tax clinic by appointment. 

 

OATS

OATS transportation is available to the entire county and is available to anyone regardless of age, income, disability, race, gender, religion or national origin. If you don’t see your area listed, call driver Angela Pleasant, 417-343-0573, for help arranging your ride. For rides from Bakersfield, Caulfield and Dora, call Jean Lawing, 284-7377; from Theodosia and Gainesville, call Mary Piepergerdes, 679-4142.To arrange rides to Springfield, call Lawing or Pleasant. 

This is the schedule for the rest of February and for the month of March: Each Thursday of the month Caulfield and Bakersfield go to West Plains. Tuesday, Feb. 27: The whole county comes to Gainesville. The Ozark County Food Pantry is open at a special time for this day for OATS riders only. Tuesday, March 6: Theodosia and Gainesville go to Ava. Monday, March 12: Pontiac, Gainesville and Theodosia go to Springfield. Tuesday, March 13: Theo-dosia and Gainesville go to West Plains. Monday, March 19: Caulfield and Bakers-field go to Mountain Home, Arkansas. Tuesday, March 20: Theodosia and Gaines-ville go to Mountain Home. Tuesday, March 27: The whole county goes to Gainesville. The business meeting, to be held at 12:30 p.m. at The Center, is open to the public. The food pantry is open this day at a special time for OATS riders only.
