The Center menus, activities and OATS bus schedule: Dec. 27, 2017 - Jan. 4, 2018

Menus

Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is open to everyone. The cost is $6 for those younger than 60; a $3.50 donation is requested for those over 60. Call 679-4746 to order take-out for 25 cents more.

Wednesday, Dec. 27: country-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas, homestyle biscuit, Mary Lee’s dump cake. Thursday, Dec. 28: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, homestyle biscuit, pumpkin caramel cream cheese poke cake. Friday, Dec. 29: fried fish, brown beans, coleslaw, cornbread, peach cobbler. Monda, Jan. 1: Closed for New Year’s Day. Tuesday, Jan. 2: oven-fried chicken, fried taters, green beans, fresh-baked roll, peach cobbler. Wednesday, Jan. 3: shrimp, baked potato, green beans, fresh-baked roll, birthday cake and ice cream. Thursday, Jan. 4: beef Stroganoff, peas & carrots, bread stick, spinach salad, fresh apple pie. 

 

Activities

Wednesday, Dec. 27: crafters’ corner, 10 a.m., card club 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28: bingo 1 p.m., music jam session 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1: Closed in observance of New Year’s Day. Wednesday, Jan. 3: card club 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4: crafters corner 10 a.m., bingo 1 p.m., music jam session 6 p.m. 

 

OATS

OATS transportation is available to the entire county and is available to anyone regardless of age, income, disability, race, gender, religion or national origin. If you don’t see your area listed, call driver Angela Pleasant, 417-343-0573, for help arranging your ride. For rides from Bakersfield, Caulfield and Dora, call Jean Lawing, 284-7377; from Theodosia and Gainesville, call Mary Piepergerdes, 679-4142. To arrange rides to Springfield, call Lawing or Pleasant. 

This is the schedule for the rest of December and for January: Thursday, Dec. 28, and every Thursday in January: Caulfield and Bakersfield go to West Plains. Monday, Jan. 1: New Year’s Day. Office closed, no bus. Tuesday, Jan. 2: Theodosia and Gainesville go to Ava. Monday, Jan. 8: Pontiac,  Gainesville and Theodosia go to Springfield. Tuesday, Jan. 9: Theodosia and Gainesville go to West Plains. Monday, Jan. 15: Martin Luther King Day, office closed no bus.  Tuesday, Jan. 16: Theodosia and Gainesville go to Mountain Home, Arkansas. Tuesday, Jan. 23: The whole county comes to Gainesville. The business meeting is held at 12:30 p.m. this day at The Center. Business meetings are open to the public. Also, the food pantry will be open this day at a special time for OATS riders only. Monday, Jan. 29: Pontiac goes to Branson.
