Lutie went into short period of ‘lock down’ mode Friday

On Friday, Sept. 1, the Lutie School District was placed into secure mode or “lock down” for about 10 minutes, after a noise was heard by staff that sounded like gunshots.

It was discovered that the sound had actually come from a power tool that was being used in a construction zone near the school. After the school was secured and cleared, classes resumed as normal.

“It was simply a precautionary measure. Our students’ safety is of the utmost importance to us.” said Superintendent Kathalee Cole.
