Bakersfield sixth-grader Isabella Marin won a Nextbook Ares 8 tablet after accumulating more than 500 Accelerated Reading points. In the program, students accumulate points by reading a book then take a computerized test on the book. The higher the grade level on the book, the more points it’s worth.
