Tecumseh news: July 25, 2018

It would be nice to grow old gracefully, but I’m afraid that isn’t always the case. Perhaps if we could have taken better care of ourselves growing up we could get around better now!
It was nice to have Lyndon and Linaia Pitcock with their two granddaughters, Chloe and Quinn Wright, visiting here Saturday from Fair Grove. Kris came to be with us also, and we had lunch together.
Kris celebrated her birthday July 16, and her sister Karen Davis celebrates July 29. Then, on Aug. 21, their brother, Marlyn Pitcock at Forsyth, will have his birthday – a series of summertime birthdays.
The tragic accident on Table Rock Lake brings sincere sympathy to those involved. How sad for such a happy time to turn to disaster. Really, there is far too much risk involved.
I continue to appreciate my good neighbor Jerry Miller for her good vegetables that she shares with me.
Sylvia Carson, now in North Pekin, Illinois, and I had another great phone visit Monday morning. She plans a wintertime visit in Alabama with her son’s family.
I’m hoping to hear that my friend Marlyn Atkinson in El Dorado Springs has made more progress in recovering from his recent accident.
It sounds strange to me since I’m from the old school, but a sign of the times was when I called Loretta Davidson recently and it said her mailbox was full. It sounds funny to me. I think of my mailbox to be out there along the driveway. I can’t get used to all this modern-day tech stuff.
Kris, Alexus, Allen and Mckayla visited Silver Dollar City Friday for the day and evening, reporting an enjoyable time.
Our prayers are with Jerry Marsh as we hear he was in the hospital in West Plains. We wish him a speedy recovery.
