VOLLEYBALL: GHS volleyball team now at 9-2-1
The Gainesville Lady Bulldogs traveled to Seymour Tuesday, Sept. 9 and defeated the Lady Tigers in three sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-20).
Addie Alms, a junior, racked up 14 kills and four service aces in the match. Freshman Avery Gaulding had five service aces, while sophomore Rylee Kowerduck helped lead the way with 14 digs, along with sophomore Baylor Hewett’s 26 assists.
The junior varsity team also brought home a win, beating Seymour in two sets (25-11, 25-19), bringing their record to 5-0.
Gainesville hosted Sparta on Thursday, Sept. 11 and won three of four sets (16-25, 25-20, 25-16, 27-25) to take the match.

Gainesville’s JV split sets with Sparta (24-26, 27-25) to bring their record to 5-0-1.
The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Fordland on Friday, Sept. 12, where they lost in three sets to a tough Lady Eagles team (9-25, 13-25, 15-25). The loss brings Gainesville’s record to 9-2-1 for the season so far.
The junior varsity brought home a win for Gainesville, defeating Fordland in three sets (14-25, 25-23, 25-18) to bring their record to 6-0-1.
Gainesville traveled to Couch Monday and hosted Bakersfield Tuesday. Results of those games will be printed in next week’s Ozark County Times.
