Ozark County track and field athletes compete at district meets; several advance to sectional competition...Gainesville competed at districts; 14 qualify for sectionals

The Gainesville High School track and field team competed at the Class 2 District 5 championship meet held in Cuba Saturday, May 10.
The Bulldogs faced off against 16 schools from across the district. The Gainesville boys team took fifth overall, and the girls team took eighth.
Fourteen athletes qualified to advance to the state sectional meet set for Saturday, May 24 in Mountain Grove.
“All seven of our seniors qualified for sectionals - a rare and special accomplishment,” said GHS Coach Gary Emrick. “We could not be prouder of them as they close out their careers at Gainesville.”
