Lady Bulldogs Volleyball

The Gainesville Bulldogs volleyball team held its annual “Pink Out” night where players and spectators donned pink shirts and uniforms in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Gainesville Lady Bulldogs fell to Bradleyville during their last home game of the season Oct. 10, but that didn’t dull their shine. The group of volleyball players, along with many parents, grandparents and other fans, donned bright pink shirts in honor of breast cancer awareness month in October. The celebratory atmosphere also included a special time when the team honored its two seniors, Savannah Bushner and Emory Warden.

The Lady Bulldogs were at it again last Friday, Oct. 12, with a game at Bakersfield. The Bulldogs fell to the Lady Lions 0-3. Varsity and JV teams were defeated. Monday night, the Lady Bulldogs faced off against Mansfield in their last game of the season before districts, falling 0-3 to the team in a game held in the Mansfield gym. The pre-district season record was 4 wins, 19 losses and 1 tie.

The Bulldogs began district play Tuesday, Oct. 17, competing in the first round of the class 2 district 9 tournament against Mansfield.
