Lady Bulldogs play at Seymour tourney

The Gainesville Lady Bulldogs traveled to Seymour where they competed in the Lady Tiger Invitational tournament Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.
The Lady Bulldogs took on Liberty/Mountain View (11-7) in the first round on Thursday, Jan. 30 and lost that contest 51-28. Addie Alms led the Gainesville scoring with 13 points. Others scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Mylie Frye 5, Laney Suter and Baylor Hewett with 3 each and Kelsie Hogan and Amie Winrod with 2 each. Baylor Hewett led in rebounds with 8, followed by Alms with 6.
The Gainesville girls returned on Friday and played Sparta (11-9). The Lady Trojans took the win, 58-32. Addie Alms led the scoring with 19 points, followed by Kelsie Hogan with 5. Hogan led the rebound column with 5.
Gainesville took on Laquey in the final game and won that contest 31-29.
Prior to the tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 28, Gainesville’s Lady Bulldogs hosted Cabool and won 45-21. Senior Laney Suter and her mother Amy Suter were honored that evening for senior night. Suter scored 15 points during the game to help lead the Lady Bulldogs to the win. Others scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Addie Alms with 18, Kelsie Hogan 6, and Lauren Smith, Mylie Frye and Baylor Hewett with 2 each. Hewett led in rebounds with 10.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Fordland on Thursday, Feb. 6 and will travel to Willow Springs on Monday.
