JH Bulldogs teams take second in confernce, first at Norwood tourney

The Gainesville Junior High boys and girls teams have each caught some wins, ending their seasons with the second-place trophy in the summit conference tournament held at Seymour. Just the weekend before, both teams took home the first place trophies in the Norwood tournament.

Boys Coach Chris Randolph said the players have put their heart into the game this season. “We had a fun and successful season this year on both the A team and B team levels. We had a ton of growth and development, and I look forward to seeing these guys continue to progress in the future,” he said.

The Bulldog boys junior high A team finished with a season record of 11 wins and 5 loses. B team finished up the season at 9-2.

Girls coach Lance West reflected on this season also. “I am very proud of what this team accomplished this season. We finished the year with a 13-3 record. We took home the first place trophy in the Norwood tournament and finishing second place in the summit conference tournament. The B team finished the year with a 7-2 record. These girls played really well together. I was encouraged by how hard they played and how much they improved throughout the season. The future looks bright for the Lady Bulldogs basketball program.”
