GHS runners competed at C of O Friday, Oct. 4

The Gainesville Bulldogs cross country teams competed in the Texidor Challenge at School of the Ozarks on the C of O campus at Point Lookout Friday, Oct. 4.

Freshman Jessica Suit earned another first place overall finish with her time of 21:58 for the 5,000 meter run. Other high school runners earning medals were senior John Botts-Papcke who placed ninth with his time of 20:09.11 and sophomore Archer Luna, 10th, with his time of 20:09.45.

The Gainesvillle Junior High boys took first place as a team. Seventh grader Aiden Thome took second place out of  24 runners in the junior high boys division. Oliver Daniel placed sixth, and Ziarre Creed placed ninth to also medal in the race.

Gainesville’s Junior High girls took second place at the meet. Eighth grader Annabell Snelson placed second out of 22 runners. Prentice Creed, sixth grade, and Emma Amyx, eighth grade, also medaled. Nina Sponugle and Izzy Workman finished just outside the medals in 11th and 12th place respectively.

Gainesville’s cross country teams will travel to Conway to compete Thursday, Oct. 10.
