GHS girls 4x800m relay team took 11th place

The Gainesville High School 4x800 meter girls relay team took 11th place in the Class 2 state race with a time of 10 minutes and 37.88 seconds. The team includes teammates Kaitlyn Kahl, Jessica Suit, Nina Sponaugle and Annabell Snelson. The Lexington High School team took first with a time of 9 minutes and 34.32 seconds. 

GHS’s Annabell Snelson takes 15th in 800m race

Gainesville High School freshman Annabell Snelson took 15th place in the 2026 Class 2 girls 800 meter race at the state competition with a time of 2 minutes 34.08 seconds. First place went to Farrah Williams of North Platte High School with a time of 2 minutes 16.35 seconds. 

Jessica Suit finishes in 13th and 16th in races

Gainesville’s Jessica Suit earned the right to compete in two events in the 2026 class 2 state track meet with standout performances at the sectional meet. She finished 13th in the girls 3200 meter race with a time of 12 minutes 59.95 seconds. First place in that race went to Ellie Lichte of Lexington High School with a time of 11 minutes 1.29 seconds. She also finished 16th in the 1600 meter race with a time of 5 minutes 45.83 seconds. First place in that event also went to Lichte of Lexington High School with a time of 4 minutes 56.12 seconds.
