GHS boys are back-to-back Summit Conference track & field champs


The 2024 Gainesville High School Bulldogs boys track team won the Summit Conference for the second year in a row. The Gainesville Bulldogs track and field teams competed in the Summit Conference championships last week and came home with some impressive accolades. 

The boys varsity team doubled down on last year’s conference championship with another outstanding performance taking first place with 165 total team points. The second place team scored 97. The large margin of victory continues to show the progress this team has made over the course of the season.

The Lady Bulldogs girls varsity team placed third overall and continues to impress with a small team.

All conference first team selections are as follows: boys: 4x800 relay: Isaac Pippin, Brady Myers, Nick Goodson and Ryder Murphy; javelin: Macray Hambelton; and 3200-meter run: Archer Luna.

All conference honorable mention: boys: 100-meter, 200-meter, 400 meter: Aaron Kahl; 1600 meter: Ryder Murphy; discus: Christian Ries; 3200 meter : Nick Goodson. 

Girls all conference honorable mention: 1600- meter: Kaitlyn Kahl; 3200- meter: Alyssa Smith; and discus: Breanna Rowland.

Other schools in the Summit Conference are Sparta, Fordland, Norwood, Mansfield, Hartville and Conway.
