Clint Hall will be Gainesville’s new HS/JH principal

At its monthly board meeting April 19, the Gainesville School Board hired Dr. Clint Hall as the Gainesville High School and Junior High principal for the 2021-2022 school year. His duties as principal for grades 7-12 begin here on July 1.

Hall currently serves as principal at Ava Elementary School, a job he has held for eight years. He has also served as a high school history and math teacher as well as an at-risk teacher for the Norwood School District.

Hall earned his doctorate in educational leadership from Lindenwood University in 2016. He also holds a graduate degree in administration from Missouri State University as well as an undergraduate degree from Drury University. He has completed specialty educational training in content areas including standards-based grading, Professional Learning Communities, the Foundations of Leader In Me, team-building, data analysis and course design, educator effectiveness and comprehensive planning.

Gainesville superintendent Justin Gilmore told the Times Monday night that Hall is “a proven instructional leader with strengths in communication, curriculum, relationships, parent involvement and a community focus. We’re very excited to add Dr. Hall to our administrative team.”

Hall will replace current high school and junior high principal Ericka Armstrong, who announced recently that she has accepted a job with the administrative team at School of the Osage in Lake Ozark. Armstrong moved into the combined high school-junior high position at the beginning of the current school year after previously serving as Gainesville Junior High principal.

Trevor Hicks will continue as assistant high school and junior high principal, Gilmore said.

“I am humbled to serve as the 7-12 principal at Gainesville,” Hall said in a prepared statement. “The community will find that I am a student-centered leader who strives to ensure that every student is given an exceptional educational experience. Working with Gainesville, leading this school and community in this capacity is truly an honor. I am very excited to become a Bulldog!”

Hall and his wife, Shelby Hall, live in Ava with their two children, Scarlett and Rolen.
