Bulldogs beat Summersville, head to Cabool tourney Dec. 26

The Gainesville boys basketball team traveled to Summersville Friday, Dec. 15, and defeated the Tigers 70-57, bringing their record to 3-3 for the season. 

Grant Leeker led the scoring for the Bulldogs with 17 points. Others scoring for Gainesville were Nathan Kiger 13, Harmon Johns 12, Jace Headrick 11, Andrew Hambelton 10 and Owen Donley with 7. 

Kiger led in rebounds with 9. Easton McGee led in assists with 6.

The Gainesville boys and girls JV and varsity teams hosted Bradleyville Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The Gainesville varsity boys are competing in the Cabool  Holiday Tournament Dec. 26-29, where they are seeded sixth out of 16 teams participating. Seeding for the tournament is as follows:  Norwood, Licking, Liberty, Mansfield, Cabool, Gainesville, Salem, Eminence, Viola, Alton, Summersville, Dora, Winona, Plato, Conway and Houston. 

Gainesville will play Summersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26.
