Volleyball: Dora Lady Falcons beat Seymour

The Dora Lady Falcons hosted Seymour Friday, Oct. 10. The JV won in 2 sets 25-6, 25-16. The varsity won their match in 3, 25-18,  25-9,  25-16.

Sophomore Montgomery Mitchell led the team in kills with 11, junior Ellie Ullom had 8 kills and senior Olivia Martin had 6 kills.

Senior Loghan Bruce had 18 assists, and junior Haley Perkins had 22 digs.

“Overall, both teams played extremely well,” said Coach Brandi Montgomery. “They came out strong and were able to maintain their focus and intensity throughout (something we have been struggling with lately, but this was definitely a change for the positive). Also, we were excited to have junior Haley Perkins back on the court with us (she had been out for the last month, due to a shoulder injury). The team seemed to be one cohesive unit again, which is exactly what we want to see as we head into our final two weeks of the season.”

Dora’s next and last home game is Thursday, Oct. 16 when they host Mansfield before heading into the Class 1 District 7 Tournament where they’re seeded fifth and will take on fourth seeded Bakersfield at 4 p.m. Oct. 23 at Winona.
