The students in the Dora High School class of 2026 are now high school graduates after last Friday’s commencement ceremony was held in the school gym. This year’s valedictorian is Olivia Martin, and the salutatorian is Loghan Bruce. Former 155th District State Rep. Travis Smith gave the commencement speech.
The next two Ozark County schools to host high school graduation will be Bakersfield and Gainesville. Both have scheduled ceremonies for this Friday night, May 8.
Bakersfield School will host its graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. in the Jerry Taylor Gymnasium at the school. This year’s commencement speaker will be Lori Sisney, a former Bakersfield teacher who now teaches at Richards School District near her home in West Plains.
Gainesville School will hold its graduation ceremony at 7:30 p.m. at the Benton F. Breeding Stadium and track on the school’s campus. If there is inclement weather, the event will instead take place in the high school gym. This year’s commencement speaker is Luke Cooley, Gainesville School bus maintenance director and father of graduating senior, Mattie Cooley.
