Man tries to evade officers but forgets to cover his foot prints in the snow

According to the Ozark County Sheriff, on Feb. 3, Deputy James Fountain and Lt. Matt Rhoades saw a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 160 near Spring Creek. The officers recognized the driver as Aaron Perry, who they knew had a revoked driver's license. 

Fountain and Rhoades turned the patrol vehicle around to stop the suspect, and Perry reportedly passed a vehicle on a curve and sped away to evade the deputies.

The officers located Perry’s vehicle abandoned on a steep driveway near a house. The owner of the house did not know Perry and had not seen him after he had apparently abandoned the vehicle in front of their house.

A brief search was conducted for Perry in the area, but it ended once his shoe impressions in the snow disappeared into the nearby woods. 

Perry's vehicle was towed from the property, and a firearm was located inside. Perry is a convicted felon and is prohibited by law from possessing a firearm, the OCSD says. 

The next morning, the two officers returned to the area and located Perry's shoe impressions in the snow on a nearby dirt road where he was last seen. 

The officers followed the footsteps back to Perry’s house, approximately five miles away. 

They arrested him at the residence without further incident. Perry was booked at the jail for felony driving while revoked, felon in possession of a firearm and felony fleeing.
