Man charged with felony for repeat offense of driving with revoked license
Timothy William Kendrick is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 9 in Ozark County on a felony charge of driving with a revoked or suspended license.
The classification of a felony versus the usual misdemeanor for the alleged action is due to Kendrick’s prior convictions of driving with a revoked or suspended license, which include at least four other convictions in his past.
According to the probable cause statement, prepared by Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. C. Hogue, at 4:33 p.m. Jan. 13, the officer arrested Kendrick on Highway 5, south of Highway 95, for felony-level driving without a valid license.
Hogue had reportedly stopped Kendrick in a blue 1998 Dodge Dakota truck while he was driving southbound on Highway 5 that day exceeding the 60 mile per hour speed limit by traveling 71 miles per hour. Hogue made contact with Kendrick, who had no passengers with him, the report says.
Kendrick told the officer he had a revoked license and that he was going to see a friend in Theodosia. He said that the truck did not have cruise control, and he thought he was going 68 or 69 miles per hour. He also told the officer that he owned the truck, but the plates he had displayed on it were to another vehicle he owned, the report says. He was unable to show proof of insurance.
Hogue ran a computer check of the truck’s registration which revealed that the plates he had displayed did belong the Kendrick’s 1983 Ford truck.
A check on the Dodge’s VIN showed that the truck was titled to Codey Moore.
A computer check of Kendrick revealed that his driver’s license was revoked by several different revocations with the most recent being a failure to appear suspension dated July 28, 2022.
Kendrick had several driving while suspended/revoked convictions (Feb. 8, 2013, conviction in Greene County; Feb. 24, 2015, conviction for an event in Barry County; Feb. 19, 2019, conviction for an event in Greene County; and an April 12, 2021, conviction in Greene County).
Hogue arrested Kendrick and transported him to the Ozark County Jail where he was fingerprinted and photographed. He was later released to a friend. The Dodge truck was secured and left at the scene, per Kendrick’s request.
