Isabella man charged here in 2023 MJTF drug bust

Michael Jones

A warrant with a $2,500 cash-only bond has been issued for the arrest of Michael Jones, 42, of Isabella, in connection with a 2023 methamphetamine case.

According to the probable cause statement, prepared by Ozark County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Sherman, around midnight March 6, 2023, the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force executed a residential search warrant at a residence in Tecumseh. At the time the search warrant was executed, Jones and others were taken into custody.

“After securing all four subjects upon taking them into custody, they were escorted to the outside of the residence where they were detained. All four subjects were read their Miranda rights, which all four individually stated they understood. I asked all four subjects which bedrooms were theirs. Michael Jones stated that he did not live at the residence but had been staying there temporarily and stayed in the back, middle bedroom,” Sherman wrote in the report.

A search of the residence was conducted, and the following items were located, photographed and seized as evidence in Jones’s bedroom: a spoon containing an unknown substance which lab-tested positive for methamphetamine and used syringes.

Jones is charged as a prior offender due to his criminal history of more than two other felony convictions. The designation means that he faces harsher punishment if convicted in the case.

The documents do not indicate who the other three suspects are in the case. The Times will report on those charges if, and when, they are filed.
