Lions baseball team wins five in a row

The Bakersfield Lions baseball team has won five home games in a row, bringing their record to 8-3 after they defeated the Alton Comets 7-5 at Pride Park Thursday, Sept. 28.
The win followed a series of home-field victories for the Lions, starting with a 3-1 win over Norwood on Monday, Sept. 18. Bodie Harden was the winning pitcher. Ethan Cotter and Bodie Harden each had two hits, while Jake Summers, Cooper Massey and Alex Help each had one.
The Lions hosted Koshkonong the following night, Sept. 19, and blanked the Blue Jays, 10-0, with Austin Durham on the mound for Bakersfield. Ethan Cotter and Ty Cotter each had two hits to contribute to the win.
Thursday, Sept. 21, Bakersfield beat Hartville, 6-1. Ethan Cotter was the winning pitchers with 11 strikeouts. Ty Cotter and Bodie Harden both had great nights at bat, with three hits each. Alex Helm, Austin Durham, Cooper Massey and Ethan Cotter had one hit each. Bakersfield went on to host Dora on Monday, Sept. 25, and the Lions held the Falcons scoreless, ending the game with a 10-0 win.
In the Thursday, Sept. 28, match up against Alton, the Lions brought home their fifth win in a row. The 7-5 win was secured by pitcher Case Lashley. Ethan Cotter went 2 for 3, while Cooper Massey was 1 and 3 with RBIs. Eli Cotter and Alex Helm each chipped in one hit each during the game.
Bakersfield travels to Koshkonong Thursday, Oct. 5. The Bakersfiels Lions are coached by Brandon Cotter.
