Lady Lions are 6-2 for season

The Bakersfield Lady Lions varsity girls basketball team took home a 52-36 win against Wheatland at the Weaubleau shootout Dec. 16. 

The Lady Lions came out with a strong lead of 13 over Wheatland’s 5 after the first quarter and maintained the lead throughout the game (23-21 second quarter; 38-33 third quarter and 52-36 final score). Top scorers were Callie Smith with 13 points, Jessie Keith with 12 points and Keely Stevens and Rienna Velasquez both chipping in 11 points and Sara Collins adding another 3 points. 

The win brings the Lady Lions’ record to 6-2 for the season. Other recent game scores for the Lady Lions include: Nov. 28 game vs. Mountain Home Christian Academy (63-32), Dec. 4 vs. Cabool (60-16), Dec. 5 vs. Koshkonong (73-11), Dec. 7 vs. Norwood (49-54), Dec. 14 vs. Seymour (44-50).
