Bakersfield High School track athletes moving on to state sectional meet

The Bakersfield High School track and field team, coached by Jessica Batterton, traveled to Carthage High School Saturday, May 7 to compete in the Class 1 District 8 meet. Several athletes placed in the top four, which qualifies them to compete at the state sectional track meet set for Saturday, May 14 at College of the Ozarks.
Athletes who qualified are as follows:
Second place: Jake Freiman, 100-meter dash; boys 4x200 meter relay team – Jake Freiman, Landon Hodgson, Jacob Watlington and Kurt Watlington; and girls 4x200 meter relay team – Jasmine Hall, Gretchen Zastrow, Callie Smith and Nautica Smith.
Third place: Aidan Tiller, 110-meter hurdles; Jasmine Hall, 300-meter hurdles; boys 4x100 relay team – Jake Freiman, Landon Hodgson, Jacob Watlington and Kurt Watlington
Fourth place: Aidan Tiller, 300-meter hurdles; Nautica Smith, girls 400-meter dash; Jasmine Hall, girls 100-meter hurdles; and girls 4x400 relay team – Jasmine Hall, Gretchen Zastrow, Callie Smith and Nautica Smith.
