Bushners celebrate 60th anniversary

Robert L. and Connie Jo Bushner of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Tecumseh, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 3 with a family celebration. 

The couple was married Aug. 3, 1963, at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Sacramento, California, and honeymooned in Reno, Nevada, for two days. The couple then drove to Iowa to celebrate with the bride’s relatives. There they attended a picnic at the Dike Park. 

Their first home was in Oakland, California, and in November 1989 they moved to Ozark County and purchased the Bill Miller ranch in Gainesville where they raised registered Black Angus cattle for seed stock. After retiring, they moved to Tecumseh on Norfork Lake and seven years ago they relocated to Florida. 

Family members include their son David Bushner and wife Heather (married June 4, 1994) and their children 19-year-old Maverick and 17-year-old Savannah, all of Gainesville; and son Doug Bushner and his wife Anita (married Sept. 7, 1991) in Omaha, Nebraska, and their 18-year-old daughter Amber.
