Mother Goose invites kids to library for visit

Chrystal Marshall will make her debut appearance as Mother Goose at the Ozark County Volunteer Library at 10:30 a.m. this Friday.

Youngsters and those young at heart will have a chance for an interactive visit with Mother Goose at 10:30 a.m. this Friday, June 16, at the Ozark County Volunteer Library in Gainesville.

Isabella resident Chrystal Marshall will don her blue plaid apron to transform into Mother Goose, the infamous imaginary author of various fairy tales and nursery rhymes. It will be Marshall’s first appearance as Mother Goose, a role she inherited from Theodosia resident Gloria Noah, who dressed the part and visited with schoolchildren for decades before her declining eyesight caused her to pass the bonnet onto someone else. Marshall told the Times recently that the appearance will include an interactive visit with children, who will have a hands-on experience with various props and themed items that she will use during the presentation.

The visit is free, and everyone is welcome to attend. The Ozark County Volunteer Library is located at 200 Elm Street in Gainesville. To find out more about the library, call during regular hours at 417-679-4442.
