Man charged for reportedly ramming woman’s car, shattering windshield

A warrant for the arrest of Jason D. Lansdown, of Clarkridge, Arkansas, has been issued in relation to an Ozark County case in which he’s charged with property damage, unlawful use of a weapon (exhibiting), harassment and armed criminal action. He is to be held without bond until he is brought before the court for an arraignment.

According to the probable cause statement prepared by Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin, at 2:48 a.m. June 13, the sheriff and Lt. Matt Rhoades were dispatched to a residence on County Road 545 in Gainesville for a report of a domestic dispute in progress.

When the two officers arrived on scene, they went to the residence of the victim where they saw that her home and vehicle had been damaged. The victim told the officers that she and Lansdown had been in a romantic relationship that was “on and off” for the past few weeks, but the day before, she told him that the relationship was over for good. Lansdown became irate and left the house, coming back about a half hour later and began yelling at her, she reportedly told officers. He then spun out in the driveway as he left, throwing gravel on her vehicle which caused the windshield to shatter.

The woman said she left and went to a friend’s house for awhile, but she got a call from her daughter who said that she was scared and “Jason was trying to get into the garage,” the report says.

Lansdown found her at the friend’s house and began yelling and threatening her. He told her he’d be waiting at the house for her. She went home.

“When she turned down her driveway, headlights and a truck appeared behind [her] from the land across County Road 545. [She] recognized it as Mr. Lansdown’s vehicle. Mr. Landsdown yelled and called [her] names and then rammed [her] 2003 Mustang with his vehicle, pushing the victim’s vehicle into the garage door, causing significant damage,” the sheriff’s report says.

The woman told her mother to contact the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, and while a dispatcher was on the phone with the victim, she said that she could hear shotgun blasts outside her residence.
