Sheriff's report: Nov. 20-27, 2017

Nov. 20

8:21 a.m. – Caller reported a 9mm Baretta with 1 clip stolen from car on County Road 519. Handled by OCSD officer.

8:58 a.m. – Medical: 54-year-old female had broken-leg surgery last month and is still fighting infection. Tecumseh VFD first responders and Ozark County Ambulance responded. Patient was transported to Ozarks Medical Center.

12:09 p.m. – Caller reported plates stolen off his vehicle, which had been parked at his mother’s place in Bakersfield. Entered into MULES as lost or stolen.

12:30 p.m. – Caller reported brush fire on County Road 372. Dora and Tecumseh VFDs and Forest Service dispatched.

1:19 p.m. – Caller found a brown flowered backpack at Bullseye near O’Reilly’s. Dispatcher called the high school, and they know the owner and will tell her it is at OCSD.

3:10 p.m. – Caller said her 75-year-old husband took off around 10:15 a.m. in their burgundy 1993 Chevy and has not returned. He had a stroke on Nov. 1. He was wearing three long-sleeve and two short-sleeve shirts, one being plaid, and was also wearing an orange hunting cap and orange blazer. OCSD rendered assistance; man was found safe with a friend at 3:35 p.m.

3:29 p.m. – Medical: 86-year-old female fell from bed and can’t get up and is cold. Dora VFD was tied up with a fire call. Tecumseh VFD and OCA were dispatched. Patient was transported to OMC.

4:29 p.m. – Caller asked for well-being/ security check on her brother, who she hasn’t been able to reach for three weeks. OCSD rendered assistance; caller made contact with subject’s doctor, who said he is fine and at home but has not wanted to answer the phone the last few weeks.

4:53 p.m. – Caller wanted to speak to a deputy about her teenage daughter. OCSD rendered assistance.

7:32 p.m. – Vehicle stop at Highways 160 and 181; consent to search was given. 

9:15 p.m. – Caller is suspicious that someone in a black Chevy truck is spotlighting on County Road 374. OCSD left message with Missouri Department of Conservation agent.

11:54 p.m. – Caller on County Road 806 said bank account information and money have been stolen. OCSD rendered assistance.

 

Nov. 21

4:47 a.m. – Medical: 67-year-old female in Gainesville is having trouble breathing. OCA responded. Patient was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. 

5:05 a.m. – Subject hit a deer on Highway 160 near Giles and Kendall. Deer is still alive with broken legs. OCSD rendered assistance.

5:48 a.m. – Alarm activated at Evans Quik Stop on Highway 101. Owner said he was looking at the camera and nothing was going on. Possibly a spider had set off the alarm as had happened previously. Deputy isn’t needed.

9:02 a.m. – Stranded motorist: Lady in white car 6 miles north on Highway 5. OCSD rendered assistance.

10:38 a.m. – Caller on County Road 620 said a person is trying to kill him with a knife. Handled by OCSD officer. No sign of knife, and reporting party had left.

11:53 a.m. – Medical: 37-year-old male has irregular heart beat and high blood pressure. OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

12:17 p.m. – Two-vehicle accident in front of Lutie School and Theodosia United Methodist Church. No injuries; road is partially blocked. Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched along with Theo-dosia Area VFD for traffic control.

1:13 p.m. – Medical: 37-year-old with head concussion at Theodosia Family Clinic. OCA responded, but patient was transported by private vehicle.

2:02 p.m. – Caller said a person is going to beat her up. Wanted it on record. OCSD rendered assistance.

2:10 p.m. – Brush fire reported on Highway 160. Theodosia Area VFD responded.

2:24 p.m.  – Caller requested well-being/security check after family dropped her off the previous night, and now she won’t answer phone or come back. Handled by OCSD officer.

3:17 p.m. – Brown cow is out on Highway 95 6 miles from Highway 160. OCSD rendered assistance and Theodosia Area VFD located owner.

4:18 and 4:21 p.m. – Medical: 14-year-old male was bitten in mouth by a dog. Theodosia Area VFD and OCA responded. OCSD rendered assistance.

4:28 p.m. – Grass fire reported on County Road 166 in Douglas County. Brixey-Rockbridge VFD dispatched in mutual aid to Eastern Douglas VFD.

5:19 p.m. – Medical: 911 caller said 1-month-old infant stops breathing while sleeping. Is breathing and awake now. OCA responded.

4:37 p.m. – Caller said someone broke into her house within the last 24 hours and took the outside AC unit and copper from the inside heater unit. Report taken.

7:13 p.m. – Caller reported grass fires and the old post office dozed and burning at the end of A Highway. Wasola VFD responded. Controlled burn.

 

Nov. 22

5:29 a.m. – Warrant arrest at JMart Bullseye. 

5:39 a.m. – Previously reported brush fire on Jersey Lane has rekindled. Brixey-Rockbridge VFD responded.

7:14 a.m. – Caller said a Glock pistol was stolen from his truck on County Road 528. Report taken.

10:08 a.m. – Medical: 80-year-old female is on floor after throwing up overnight. Gainesville Fire Department responded. Coroner called. 

11:03 a.m. – Caller reported a suspicious vehicle near intersection of Highway 5 with  A and 95 North Highways. Red pickup is pulling a flat-bed trailer with things on the trailer. OCSD rendered assistance.

11:40 a.m. – Tecumseh VFD responded in mutual aid with Bakersfield VFD to grass fire on YY Highway off Highway 101.

12:03 p.m. – Prisoner transported to Baxter County (Arkansas) Jail: Angela Wilcox.

1:05 p.m. – Fire previously reported on Jersey Lane has rekindled. Brixey-Rockbridge responded; will stay on scene to make sure fire is contained. 

1:50 p.m. – Brush fire reported on County Road 319A. Tecumseh VFD responded with mutual aid from Bakersfield and Dora VFDs. 

4:22 p.m. – Caller said someone is using a 2004 white Ford Mustang without permission. OCSD rendered assistance. At 5:23 p.m., the vehicle was found and returned to the house.

5:24 p.m. – Medical: A man lying in ditch near some burning leaves is “out of it” but breathing. OCA, Caney Mountain and Gainesville VFDs responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

7:05, 7:29 and 7:32 p.m. – Caller reported sparks flying from breaker box on Highway 95 across from Hilltop Church. Structure fire was reported at 7:29 p.m. and 7:32. Thornfield, Theodosia Area, Wasola VFDs and OCA responded. Fire marshal was called.  Everyone and all pets are out of the house.

 

Nov. 23

12:03 a.m. – Cow and horse are on roadway on Highway 160 near First Christian Church. OCSD contacted animal owner.

12:35 a.m. – Possible flue fire reported on Blackberry Lane. Wasola and Gainesville VFDs responded with OCSD officer.

3:00 a.m. – Structure fire on County Road 356. Dora, Caney Mountain, Eastern Douglas VFDs responded.

1:49 p.m. – Shop alarm activated. ADT canceled at 1:52. OCSD checked: false alarm.

  1:52 p.m. – Medical: Man has numbness on left side and arm with tingling plus neck pain. Referred to Howell County 911.

2:21 p.m. – Mountain Home PD requested mutual aid for structure fire on County Road 99 in Baxter County, Arkansas. Lick Creek VFD responded.  

3:08 p.m. – Structure fire on Dexter Drive. Bakersfield VFD and Tecumseh VFD responded.

4:48 p.m. – Brush fire reported on County Road 655. Theodosia Area VFD responded with Pontiac and Gainesville responding in mutual aid. MDC responded with bull dozers. 

11:58 p.m. – Traffic stop east of Spring Creek Bridge on Highway 160: OCSD.

 

Nov. 24

9:26 a.m. – Cows are out on Highway 5 north. Animal owner was contacted.

11:45 a.m. – Medical: 65-year-old male is incoherent; has bad speech and is having a hard time getting words out. Theodosia Area VFD, OCA and Air Evac responded.

11:52 a.m. – Caller said her children’s father is making threats. OCSD rendered assistance.

1:16 p.m. – Vehicle accident: Van hit trees. MSHP and Brixey-Rockbridge VFD responded. No ambulance needed.

1:37 p.m. – Residential alarm activated. OCSD responded. Checked OK.

3:09 p.m. – Caller said a large piece of pottery was taken from porch in Isabella. Wanted it on record.

5:51 p.m. – Caller hit a deer with her 2004 Ford Free Star Van on Highway 5 north. Wanted it on record.

8:34 p.m. –Caller can hear gunshots on County Road 831. Handled by OCSD officer.

 

Nov. 25

9:50 a.m. – Caller reported damage to his gate on Pearson Ranch Road. Report taken.

11:52 a.m. – Woman is running down Highway 160 near H Highway. OCSD officer spoke with the female. She is OK.

11:52  a.m. – Brush fire reported on Highway 5 just south of the state line. Timber Knob VFD and Baxter County (Arkansas) FD responded.

12:21 p.m. – Caller said a male subject on West Main Street is walking around his house, yard and garage, talking to someone on the phone. Male subject is driving a silver van and is possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. OCSD responded. Gone on arrival.

1:42 p.m. – Residential alarm activated on County Road 806. OCSD responded. Checked OK.

1:44 p.m. – Brush fire reported on County Road 306. Lick Creek and Gaines-ville VFDs responded. 

2:48 p.m. – Brush fire reported on Highway KK. Pottersville VFD responded with Tecumseh VFD responding in mutual aid.

3:51 p.m. – Brush fire reported on County Road 655. Theodosia Area VFD responded.

8:05 p.m. – Traffic stop at Highways 5 and 160. Warning issued.

10:05 p.m. – Medical: 44-year-old male, Type 1 diabetic, is weak and throwing up. OCA and Theodosia Area VFD responded. 

10:54 p.m. – Traffic stop at Highways MM and 160. OCSD rendered assistance

 

 

Nov. 26

12:03 a.m. – Traffic stop at Highways 5 north and 95 south. OCSD rendered assistance.

1:28 a.m. – Caller reported a bull in his yard. OCSD rendered assistance; owner is taking care of the bull.

11:02 a.m. – Medical: 75-year-old male has back pain and weakness and feels light-headed. OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.

11:40 a.m. – Brush fire reported on Highway 101. Bakersfield VFD responded.

2:30 p.m. – Caller on Highway 160 said he was choked by his father. MSHP, OCSH responded. Report taken.

2:30 p.m. – Caller says a white Dodge Dakota is traveling erratically, and male and female subject are yelling at each other with children present. OCSD responded; parties were separated.

3:57 p.m. – Caller said all kinds of signs have been dumped on County Road 903. OCSD rendered assistance. Officer brought city signs to the sheriff’s office.

3:58 p.m. – Caller said a subject took her car and all the items in it. She filled out a statement and was going to return so officer could look at her car.

4:38 p.m. – Caller said he came to his apartment barn on County Road 527 and 514, and someone was in there, and several things have already been taken. Subject arrested, vehicle towed.

5:20 p.m. – Caller is concerned about his son being around his mother, who is doing drugs. Handled by OCSD officer.

5:40 p.m. – Caller is concerned about kids parked behind Bullseye. Handled by OCSD officer. 

11:27 p.m. – Well-being / security check on Highway 101. Checked OK.

 

Nov. 27

12:22 a.m. – Traffic stop on square behind Park Place Realty. Subject arrested, vehicle towed.

12:49 a.m. – Medical: 75-year-old female is having back problems. OCA responded. Patient was transported to BRMC.
