Summit Conference champions and making school history The Gainesville High School girls varsity cross country team made school history when they took first place at the Summit Conference meet held in Conway Monday, Oct. 27. The win marks the first time the school’s cross country program has won the conference championship. Runners medaling and earning all-conference honors were Jessica Suit, second place, Kaitlyn Kahl, fourth place and Annabell Snelson, sixth place. Isabelle Workman placed 11th and earned all-conference honorable mention. The event is held annually by the team as a way to raise breast cancer awareness and to raise money to help those who are battling breast cancer.
