Lady Lions place second

The Bakersfield Lady Lions softball team took second place in the Galena Tournament recently, beating Galena and Hurley before falling to a tough Miller team in the championship game.
The Lady Lions’ bats came alive quick in the tournament as Bakersfield beat up on Galena 8-1 in the first game and hammered Hurley 11-1 in the second round of tournament action.
The bruising bats were turned on the Lady Lions in the championship game, as Miller clubbed Bakersfield, 12-1.
In other action, Bakersfield rattled the bats again on April 18, routing Winona 16-1. The Lady Lions lost to Gainesville, 10-3.
The Bakersfield girls, now 8-4, will host Seymour on Friday.
