Verne D. Cubbage Memorial Bass Tournament donates to GHS clubs

Verla Cubbage, right, presents a $1,000 check to Patsy Hambelton, Gainesville FBLA adviser, Friday, Sept. 4. The check is a donation to the Gainesville FBLA and FFA chapters. Each club received $500. The proceeds come from the annual Verne D. Cubbage Memorial Buddy Bass Tournament. The organizations use the money to provide leadership opportunities for their members. This is the ninth year that the Cubbage family, recognized as one of  FBLA’s gold level sponsors, has made this contribution to the organizations. Members of the FBLA and FFA chapters, including Sage McGinnis, Thomas Pointer, Hannah Lewis, Baylee Lynne and Cassie Robertson, assisted with the presentation of awards at the fishing tournament held April 18  on Bull Shoals Lake at Pontiac Cove Marina.
